Included Each Day
Private Assisted Stretching Session
Each session offers intensive and personalized flexibility training tailored to your body, needs, and goals. We assess you in numerous positions and make stretch and strength movements to problem solve your issues. Besides problem solving, we also specialize in developing a person into new ways of being. We ask lots of questions, listen intently, and observe everything.
Your first session will be with one of our more experienced trainers who will evaluate your goals and flexibility to come up with a game plan for the rest of your sessions.
Your trainer will have assistants on hand during your sessions so that you can have all of the support necessary to create substantial results.
Private Self Stretching Session
We create a custom series of stretch and strength movements just for you, designed to empower you with the ability to stretch and strengthen yourself at any time and place.
Private Mashing Session
Mashing is a technique that centers on the trainer using their feet to achieve deep and dramatic changes to your body.

One Private Nutrition Counseling Session
What you eat is what your body is made of, including the water your drink and the freshness of the air you breathe. The longer a person has had a nutrient dense organic/biodynamic food diet, the greater their flexibility.
Your health coaching session with Liz Troy, Certified Functional Nutritionist and long-time RF practitioner, will get you on the right track with diet, nutrition, and organic products.
Two Follow-up Live Video Chat Private Sessions
Our personal retreats are designed to upgrade your health in all ways and leave you empowered to keep progressing in your flexibility after you leave. To ensure this goal, your personal retreat includes two video chat sessions with one of our trainers. We will check in with you twice after you leave using Skype, FaceTime, or an alternative video conferencing service. Video chat sessions are a great time to ask questions, share your changes, or perform exercises while receiving real-time feedback from your trainer.

We provide you with a copy of Bob Cooley's book, Resistance Flexibility 1.0, to help you remember what was covered during your personal retreat. The book is a great resource to gain deeper insight into the principles for achieving true flexibility with Resistance Flexibility, including how to remove dense fascia and scar tissue from your body and how this process develops you physically as well as psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually. Let the photos and descriptions in the book serve as a teaching aid to help you put these principles into action through self and/or assisted stretching.

You're welcome to use our kitchen to refrigerate your food and prepare your meals.
Personal Retreat Concierge
Our concierge will be in touch with you after your registration to get you started, answer any of your questions, and will be available to facilitate your experience throughout your stay in Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara is your destination for year-round Mediterranean-style weather and sandy beaches. There are many activities available for you in between your flexibility training sessions such as following bike paths down the ocean, sailing, paddle boarding, or kayaking. Or perhaps you will want to explore our botanic gardens, downtown shopping, museums, art galleries, theatre, performing arts, and historic landmarks. Catch a concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl or take in panoramic views on your hikes along trails that traverse the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains. For the more adventurous, take a trip off the coast to the Channel Islands National Park, or visit our local hot springs. Dine at one of the many gourmet restaurants in town that feature locally grown organic produce, some of the freshest food on earth. Or peruse this produce yourself at our local farmer's market.
Introductory and Intensive Personal Retreats
Our introductory personal retreat is designed for those new to Resistance Flexibility who seek a personalized program to address their body's core health and movement needs.
Our intensive personal retreat advances your experience by providing two private assisted stretching sessions each day. This retreat is designed for those familiar with Resistance Flexibility or those who seek an intensive personalized program to address their body's core health and movement needs.
Three days is a good start for your first personal retreat. But, we've also achieved great results with people who started with seven days.
Please note our retreats do not include airfare, ground transportation, meals, or lodging. Accommodations not included in cost. After registration, our retreat concierge will be in touch to assist you.
Cancellation Policy: Payments will be refunded minus payment processor fees for cancellations made at least 7 days prior to personal retreat. No refunds are provided for cancellations made less than 7 days of retreat, however, cost may be used as credit, to be used within one year of purchase. Cost is non-refundable and non-transferable upon retreat initiation. The Genius of Flexibility reserves the right to cancel an event at any time, in which case a refund will be provided.
